Senior Accountant

Job Summary:
As a Senior Accountant at Vigilent Corporation you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial activities of the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.  Specific GL Account responsibilities include: Cash, A/R, Prepaids, Inventory (including physical inventory procedures), Fixed Assets, A/P (including Credit Cards) Accruals (including Sales commissions and Sales tax payable).
Variance Analysis: Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.


Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and assist in the preparation of local, state and federal tax returns, including filing of multi-state sales and local tax returns.

Order to Cash Cycle:  Assist with order processing including acknowledgments, order setup (QuickBooks and Salesforce.com) and order invoicing.  Assist in preparation of shipping paperwork for both domestic and international shipments. 

Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.

Audit Support: Facilitate and support both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial operations.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification is highly desirable.
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
Proficient in accounting software QuickBooks and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Hiring Details:
Job Location: Remote – but will need to visit Oakland office occasionally.

Start Date: Immediate
Hire Type: Full-time, Regular, Direct Hire
Salary Range Dependent on Experience and Location:$80,000- $110,000
