Vigilent is looking for an experienced, self-motivated technical sales professional to work with the Regional Sales Director to grow and expand opportunities within new and existing accounts. This requires the ability to work collaboratively on accounts in a team selling manner, with the objective to take main responsibility of assigned accounts. The role will include responsibility for direct and indirect contact with customers, co-development with Regional Sales Director and individual development of opportunities during customer engagements across a broad geography to maximize the potential of the Vigilent solution for the customer and Vigilent.

  • Under general supervision of Regional Sales Director, sell Vigilent solutions that enable the customer to drive operational and energy efficiency within their facilities.
  • Team selling with Regional Sales Director within assigned accounts as appropriate as well as driving individual sales opportunities.
  • Participate in customer data collection, needs analysis of facility specific Vigilent system application, calculation of benefit analysis, financial justification, and generation of related proposal and presentations
  • Maintain CRM data and accurately forecast sales
  • Develop account management strategic plans and individual project plans
  • Prospect, identify, and work with decision makers and influencers within target accounts
  • Build strong, long lasting relationships at multiple levels within each account
  • Understand organizational dynamics and effectively work across all relevant customer functions
    to close sales within each account
  • Educate customers on the value and benefits of the Vigilent solution; address technical concerns
    and questions
  • Execute sales-to-operations turnover, monitors progress of project or service implementation,
    assists in collections, resolving customer issues involving the use of company products and
    services and recommends suitable resolutions as needed
  • Follow-up on sold opportunities to ensure satisfactory completion.
  • Identify and promote Vigilent's unique value within the account
  • Identify opportunities to deepen integration within the overall account – recurring relevance

  • 5 to 7 years experience in technical sales, energy management / analytical software technology, or business development within critical environments (data centers, carriers, and colocation facilities)
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and negotiation skills necessary.
  • A successful track record of selling into major accounts
  • Strong prospecting, networking and presentation skills
  • Relentless attitude, curious, detailed-orientated, desire to win, self-starter
  • Experience selling to customers at all levels
  • A background in successfully selling to the critical facilities organizations (in particular selling
  • HVAC controls, energy efficiency or critical facilities infrastructure)
  • Knowledge and experience with Miller Heimen Sales Training and account management practices
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent required – engineering degree a plus
